The HQ
The HQ is a multifunctional table designed for small homes. The HQ serves as a dining table and as a shared office desk with a removable divider panel. The panel is coated with magnetic paint, so notes can be held on its surface. The table is made from Ecoboard, a material produced from natural wheat straw left over after harvests. Panels are cut with a CNC machine and joined by interlocking tongue and groove connections, so no screws are needed. A storage space holds small office supplies, and a cut-out keeps cables tidy. The table ships as a flat pack.
The HQ Multifunctional Table by Nora J S Voon has been highlighted as an exceptional representation of industrial design by the A' Design Award & Competition. The HQ Multifunctional Table received the Bronze A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2021. The A' Furniture Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design competition that rewards excellent design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
