Strings
Strings is a leisure chair made from bent metal tube. The design is inspired by musical strings, and the line-shaped tubes meet the ring-shaped outer contour, so the form has a beginning and an end. The main material is 304 stainless steel, which is hard and resistant to corrosion, so the chair is also suitable for outdoor use. The frame is shaped by blanking, bending, heating, stretching, welding and polishing. The curves follow the sitting posture of the body. The chair suits reading, drinking tea and resting.
Strings Leisure Chair by Wei Jingye / 魏靖野 was highlighted as an innovative representation of industrial design by the A' Design Awards. Strings Leisure Chair was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2022. The A' Furniture Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design prize which celebrates exceptional design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
