Shahrokh
Shahrokh means the one who has a magnificent face. Shahrokh's general form is inspired by the traditional sitting pattern in Iran and the Middle East. In the past, people in these lands used to sit on the ground and used a kind of ground chair called mukhta for comfort. Shahrokh’s integrated mattress is designed with an eye to mukhta and is separated from the ground level for the possibility of contemporary use. The purpose of designing this chair was to achieve an object that is elegant and charismatic and shows itself in the architectural space.
Shahrokh Chair by Sepehr Mehrdadfar has been featured as a creative representation of industrial design by the A' Design Awards. Shahrokh Chair received the Bronze A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2023. The A' Furniture Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design accolade which recognizes exceptional design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
