Ring Chair
Ring Chair is a set of leisure furniture composed of a chair and a footstool. The frame is made of Brazilian pear wood, shaped by numerical control machining and finished by hand polishing. Stainless steel tubes form ring shaped armrests, wrapped with thick dark gray hemp cloth. The curved seat and back follow the shape of the body and support a correct sitting posture. Tenon joints and metal connectors allow quick assembly and disassembly for transport. The design combines traditional Chinese furniture forms with the natural beauty of solid wood.
Ring Chair Novelty and Comfortable by Wei Jingye / 魏靖野 has been identified as an outstanding illustration of industrial design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Ring Chair Novelty and Comfortable received the Bronze A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2020. The A' Furniture Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design accolade which rewards excellent design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
