Kinetic Desk Lamp

Wednesday, 8 October 2025

Nevi

Designed by Andrei LiLo, Nevi is a desk lamp built around a self centering kinetic system. Constructed from hand finished Aisi 304 stainless steel, the lamp features a spherical base and a slender vertical stem. It functions as a task light with a focused beam, while also responding to touch with a gentle oscillation that returns the object to its vertical axis. The project extends to its aluminum packaging, which is designed to transform into a secondary ambient light. Released as a numbered limited edition, Nevi explores the relationship between kinetic behavior and material presence.

A leather writing surface is flush mounted into the top, forming a continuous work plane. The structure is made of CNC machined MDF clad in natural pau ferro veneer and finished with matte acrylic varnish. Aged brass is used on edges, internal drawer dividers and a custom power box. Wiring is concealed through the legs to preserve formal clarity.

Whirlpool Protton NXT

Protton Nxt is a three-door refrigerator designed for urban Indian homes. The third door holds a 34 litre crisper drawer dedicated to fruits and vegetables, the items accessed most often in Indian kitchens. The separate drawer reduces cold air loss from the main compartment. The Active Deo feature limits odor mixing, and the Freshpad feature improves air circulation in the vegetable drawer. Adjustable shelves and rails allow storage to be rearranged as needs change. The refrigerator uses R600a refrigerant, and non-structural parts are made of recycled plastic.
